Lactulose EP Impurity F (Lactulose Impurity F) is a important impurity of Lactulose, is chemically known as (2Ξ,4Ξ)-2-(Hydroxymethyl)oxolane-2,4-diol or 1,4,5-trihydroxypentan-2-one/2-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydrofuran-2,4-diol, and is one of the mandatory impurities in the European Pharmacopoeia standard, and the EP standard does not require its chiral configuration. Therefore, there are several ways to express the structural formula, but in actual analysis and detection, it should be in the HPLC single peak state.
